How I Rate Books.

So I know its been a while but I totally forgot about exams and stuff. . . I apologize. But before I posted any wrap ups or anything like that I wanted to share how I rate the books I read. This way, if any of you are confused or curious about how or why I gave a certain book the rating I did you can look at this and get the general idea. If I review that book then obviously I will go more in depth of why I gave the book that rating but this is just to give you guys a vague overview.

So I rate books 1 to 5 stars. 5 stars being the highest rating and 1 star being the lowest. I do give half star ratings (But you can't see them on my goodreads because goodreads doesn't do half star ratings) and my half star rating are when (for example) it wasn't a solid 3 but it also wasn't a solid 4 so I would give it a 3.5.

So let's get started shall we?

1 Star

I rarely give 1 star rating because 1 star books are books that I really really REALLY hated. For whatever reason I just hated the book whether its the characters and there actions, the writing, how the storyline was executed, or just the story itself.
Books I've 1 starred: The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens by Sean Covey, Criss Cross by Lynne Rae Perkins, and (don't kill me) Allegiant by Veronica Roth.

2 Stars

I give a book a 2 star rating when I didn't absolutely hate the book but I didn't enjoy it two much. I give this rating when I find a few things in the story interesting (like a character's sense of humor) but I don't like the rest. I also rarely give this rating out. I think most books that I give this rating to are books where the story just wasn't for me.
Books I've 2 starred: The Wanderer by Sharon Creech, The Spectacular Now by Tim Tharp, and (again don't kill me) Insurgent (and Divergent) by Veronica Roth.

3 Stars

A 3 star rating is my neutral rating. I usually give a book 3 stars when I don't love the book but I also don't necessarily hate it either. I do (unfortunately) give a lot of 3 star ratings.
Books I've 3 starred: Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan, Swallowing Stones by Joyce McDonald, and Fever 1793 by Laurie Halse Anderson.

4 Stars

When I give a book a 4 star rating it's because I really liked the book. A 4 star book is a book that was almost perfect to me. There may be a few small things that I didn't like about the book but other than that I absolutely loved it.
Books I've 4 starred: Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins, The DUFF by Kody Keplinger, and Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell.

5 Stars

I rarely give out this resting because I am a very picky reader. I give a book 5 stars when I absolutely love it and it's become one of my favorite books.
Books I've 5 starred: All 7 books in The Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling (Plus all 3 books in The Hogwarts Library), Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher, and The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky.

So that's it for now! I'm working out on getting wrap-ups and book hauls typed up (It's a lot more typing then expected *sighs*) So I hope you enjoyed this little look into how I give out my ratings. Don't forget to check out my twitter and goodreads liked to the right!

Introduction

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog! Where I share everything about my life of reading. But before I get into all that I want to break down a couple of things for future reference.

BOOKTUBE:
The reason I do not have a BookTube Channel is because I do not feel comfortable putting my face on the internet (in video form) for people to see. And that is all I want to say on the matter.

WRAP-UPs:
I plan on posting a wrap-up every month where I'll post the title, a picture of the cover, the author, the number of pages, a brief overview of the synopsis, my rating (1-5), a sentence or two about why I gave the book that rating, the goodreads page, the amazon page, and the Barnes and Noble page.

BOOK REVIEWS:
The way I plan on decided what books to write a review on is that on every wrap-up whatever books are requested most in the comments are the ones I will review. The reviews will contain spoilers but I will try to keep the ratio of non spoilers to spoilers 50:50 and I will let you know when the spoilers begin.

BOOK HAULS:
I will also try to do monthly book hauls where I will post the title, a picture of the cover, the author, the number of pages, a brief description of the synopsis, the goodreads page, the amazon page, and the Barnes & Noble page.

TAGS:
Whatever the most requested tags are in the comments are the tags that I'll do.

So I think that's all I have to say for now! Make sure to follow me on all my social media and I'll have my February Wrap-Up AND February Book Haul posted within the following week. Happy reading and stay flawless.
